In the wake of the Democratic National Convention, a few things have become clear: Hillary Clinton made history, Malia Obama is a human teenager who should do whatever she wants, and some Republicans have difficulty discerning the difference between fact and fiction.
Shocking, we know.
During a visit to “The Late Late Show,” Bradley Cooper addressed the baffling response to his presence at the DNC after fans of his film “American Sniper” took to Twitter to express their outrage that the actor would ever support a Democratic candidate.
“It was unbelievable,” Cooper said of his experience at the convention. But he was less than thrilled with the media firestorm surrounding his appearance, remarking, “I was not expecting that.”
Luckily, the director of “The Hangover” films was on hand to explain how ridiculous it was that people would ever confuse Cooper's political views with those of his “American Sniper” character, Chris Kyle.
“[It's] like the mob being mad at [Robert] De Niro for being in 'The Intern,'” Todd Phillips quipped.
Despite the unexpected response, the “Joy” actor remains an avid supporter of Obama, explaining to host James Corden how lucky he felt to witness the president's speech in person.
“To be there, it was probably one of the last times we'll hear him speak,” Cooper said. “I think he was an incredible president. I was really excited.”
