Mount up! Warren G saw his name trending on social media Friday (Apr. 29), but it wasn't because of his raps. Instead, it was the Regulator's singing voice that was the talk of the day.
The Long Beach MC got everyone's attention with a less than stellar seventh inning stretch performance of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves game at Wrigley Field in the Windy City.
He got started on the wrong foot, singing “take me to the ball game,” omitting the word “out.” Then, fans seemed visibly amused and bothered by his vocal performance. Some audible boos could even be heard.
Despite this, a portion of the crowd applauded the West Coast spitter's efforts. And in the end, he may have been a lucky charm as the Cubbies defeated the Braves 6-1 with five runs coming in during the eighth inning.
Prior to this, the G-Funk legend also threw out the first pitch, but avoided any 50 Cent blunders. “Don't get me twisted,” he later wrote. “I know I didn't get the take me to the ball game but my pitch was the best ever how you like that.”
