No, Kanye West Didn't Make Aziz Ansari's 'Famous' Video Official

We wish we could say that Kanye West realized his Kanye best attempt at creating a music video for "Famous" wouldn't be as good as the Kanye fresh parody by Aziz Ansari, so he gave himself a Kanye rest and made the joke video official.

Alas, despite reports, it is not true.

Ansari and fellow "Master of None" star Eric Wareheim, who belong to a comic collective called JASH, posted their version on YouTube earlier this month. The video, which consists alternately of slow-mo street scenes, spasmodic dancing in abandoned locations and pasta consumption, has racked up nearly a million views.

A representative for JASH told Consequence of Sound that Kanye had chosen to make the video official. It turns out, however, that comedians may not always be reliable sources.

The Huffington Post has confirmed with Kanye's representation that the video is not official, but his team did not specify when an official video would be released.

Until then, we'll have this. Which is just fine.
