When then-University of Wyoming player Larry Nance Jr. tweeted in 2012 about a long-ago rape charge against Lakers star Kobe Bryant, Nance probably didn't think he would be drafted by Bryant's team years later.
But of course that happened and Nance found himself in the uncomfortable position of having to explain this:

— Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) June 26, 2015Sure, he deleted the tweet shortly after the Lakers chose him 27th on Thursday; it made the rounds anyway. Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak discussed the matter privately with Nance. And now Bryant himself has talked with his new teammate.
"He was really nice and apologetic about what had happened," Bryant told ESPN's Jemele Hill at the BET Experience Saturday. "And I said, 'Dude, listen, we've all said things and done things that we regret and wish we could take back. Water under the bridge. Welcome to the team.'"
In December 2003, Bryant was charged with raping a woman in Eagle, Colorado. The case was dismissed in 2004 when the alleged victim refused to testify. Bryant maintained the sex was consensual. The two later settled a civil suit filed by the accuser with undisclosed terms.
