United started the game with the same players that started the loss on the previous Sunday.
Right from the start of this game United went on the attack, battling for every ball
With Luis Robles, and his defense keeping them out.
The Red Bulls attempted to counter through 2014 MLS Golden Boot winner Bradley Wright-Phillips
...who did manage to get 2 shots on goal throughout the course of the game
...but more often than not, found himself silenced by the United defenders
The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when an incisive through ball from Patrick Nyarko led to Marcelo Sarvas passing to Alvaro Saborio for a tap in.
After the goal, the Red Bulls attempted to get back into the game
But the United defense stymied the majority of those attacks
...when they did slip up
...Travis Worra was on hand to save the day, with several rather spectacular dives to keep the ball out of his net, including this one handed effort
In the 43rd minute a cross from Lamar Neagle perfectly found the run of Nyarko, who made no mistake in doubling United's advantage.
The second brought an onslaught of attacks from United
But Robles was not letting anything else past him that night
So the game ended in a 2-0 win for United, and inflicted a painful defeat upon the New York Red Bulls
