Orlando Bloom's not a regular Hollywood boyfriend. He's a cool Hollywood boyfriend. On Thursday, the “Lord of the Rings” actor attended the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia to support girlfriend Katy Perry.
As a longtime Hillary Clinton fan, the pop star was tapped to deliver a speech and perform at the convention, but it was Bloom who ended up stealing the show, when the cameraman captured him adorably filming Perry on his phone.
Dressed in a shimmering silver gown, the “Prism” singer took the stage to perform her new single, “Rise,” and crowd favorite “Roar” after imparting some wise words about the importance of voting.
“Both of my parents are pastors and staunch Republicans,” Perry started off her speech. “I did not finish high school and, unfortunately, I don't have a formal education, but I do have an open mind, and I have a voice.”
“So I am asking you to have an open mind and to use your voice, because on Nov. 8, it will be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist,” she continued. “You will have as much say as any billionaire. ... Because it's not where you come from, but what you grow into.”
After her remarks, Perry revealed on Twitter that Bloom had actually inspired the closing line, telling one follower that “Lando put that one in.”
Despite a Selena Gomez-sized hiccup, the pair have been dating since March, after they were spotted holding hands while on vacation in Hawaii.
Here's to many candid Lando-Katy moments yet to come!
