Snoop Dogg is back in the house.
During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Tha Doggfather announced that he's got another album on the way. This one, titled Coolaid, is slated to drop in July, and he's already unveiled its 4th of July-inspired single, “Fireworks,” which he performed for the first time.
“This is the extravaganza,” D-O-Double-G raps on the track. “In it to win it / We start what we finish / The sky is not the limit.”
Sporting Magic Johnson's vintage Lakers jersey, Snoop went on to discuss his upcoming album title on the show. “I'm cool,” he explained. “And I'm laid-back.”
When Kimmel asked if it's a response to Beyoncé's LEMONADE, Tha Doggfather just smiled. “What you saying Jay Z needs some help right now?” he asked, before offering some assistance. “I got your back, nephew.”
In another segment, he went on to discuss Coolaid, calling it a throwback of sorts.
“Gangsta rap is back,” he said of the follow-up to last year's Bush.
During the interview, Snoop also spoke with Kimmel about his “Smokeolympics” competition with Wiz Khalifa during their upcoming “High Road Tour.” “Everything is a competition,” he said. “We're racing to each city, trying to see who can roll the fastest, who can do the most, who can remain sane at the same time while doing their thang.”
