Hunter Montgomery, Son Of Country Star Eddie Montgomery, Dead At 19



Eddie Montgomery, one half of country duo Montgomery Gentry, announced Sunday via social media that his son died. Hunter Montgomery, 19, died after an accident that placed him on life support according to a statement on the band's Facebook page.


"My son Hunter went to heaven today," said Montgomery, according to the statement. "I appreciate all your prayers and love and thank you for giving us privacy as we grieve and say goodbye." 


According to People, Montgomery's son recently proposed to his girlfriend in 2014. A video from Dan Van Media shows the late teenager getting on one knee at one of his father's concerts.

Eddie Montgomery married current wife Jennifer Belcher in April 2014. Hunter was one of four children Montgomery had with ex-wife Tracy Nunan
