'Orange Is The New Black' Star Samira Wiley Gets Engaged To Her Girlfriend

Orange Is the New Black” star Samira Wiley and her girlfriend are headed for the aisle.

Wiley announced she's engaged to her partner and “OITNB” writer Lauren Morelli in an Instagram post on Tuesday. In the photo, captioned simply “Yes,” Wiley, who played Poussey on the prison-themed show, is seen smiling and flashing her new diamond ring.

Morelli, who was previously married to a man, came out publicly in a 2014 Mic essay. The writer revealed that she realized she was gay while working on the Netflix series, and was able to be honest with her family, her friends and herself.

I am now out to my family, my friends and most of my co-workers on Orange (and now to you, dear reader). Now, when I am in the writers' room or on set, I no longer feel like I am stuck in the middle of two truths. I belong because my own narrative fits in alongside the fictional stories that we are telling on the show: stories of people finding themselves, of difficult paths and of redemption.

A couple of months after Morelli published her essay, reports surfaced that she was dating Wiley.

Congrats to the happy couple!
