The VMAs couldn't have been set up any better for Drake on Sunday. His rumored love interest, Rihanna, was set to perform throughout the night and he won the award for Best Hip-Hop Video to start the show. The only problem was that ... he wasn't there?

After announcing Drake's “Hotline Bling” as the winner, Puff Daddy revealed the rapper couldn't be there because he was “stuck in traffic.” Thankfully, Twitter figured out the “real” reason Drake couldn't be there, and the answers are amazing.
Yep, he started from Times Square. Now he's still there.
Seventeen speculated that a barrage of Rihanna ads was the real cause for Drake missing the award.
