Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett Suspended 1 Game After OVI Citation

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett has been suspended for one game after being cited with a misdemeanor offense of operating a vehicle under the influence.

A statement from the school says Barrett was stopped at a Columbus police check point early Saturday morning.

Barrett took over as the full time starter for the top-ranked Buckeyes last Saturday, throwing for 223 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Rutgers. Barrett was the starter much of last season but got hurt late in the year, giving way to Cardale Jones.

Jones ultimately led the Buckeyes to the national championship then began this season as the starter.

Ohio State has a bye this week before hosting Minnesota on Saturday.
