Leslie Jones is no one's victim.
The “Saturday Night Live” star stood up to online bullies and hackers in a powerful “Weekend Update” segment that reminded us that no one but you can embarrass and bring you down.
“I have spent decades getting roasted by comedians, black comedians at that,” the “Ghostbusters” actress said. “At a certain point, you stop being embarrassed and start being you ― and I have been me for 49 years because the only person who can hack me is me.”
Her dynamite speech referenced an episode this summer in which hackers stole and publicly posted nude photos of Jones. In her sketch, she brushed it off as “nothing.”
“I don't know if you all know this, but I ain't shy,” she told SNL's Collin Jost. “If you want to see Leslie Jones naked, just ask. Just ask!”
“You can't embarrass me more than myself. I know all the details because I was there,” she said, rattling off past life events that included Prince mistaking her for Chris Rock and being attacked by a woman carrying a shovel at a bus stop.
“Real trolls aren't tapping on keyboards, they're swinging shovels,” she said before hilariously warning that her firewall is “a crazy bitch with a shovel.”
Perhaps predictably, the Twitterverse erupted in cheers and applause for Jones.
As for the haters? Get with the program.
