Kanye West and Kid Cudi Hit the Studio for ‘Turbo Grafx 16’

Kanye West’s Turbo Grafx 16 is underway. Just a week after announcing the upcoming project’s tentative title, a photo of its first studio session has been revealed.

Ibn Jasper, Kanye’s longtime barber, posted a photograph of Yeezy, Kid Cudi, and producers Mike Dean and Plain Pat in the lab today. “TURBO GRAFX 16 day 1,” he wrote on Instagram.

Despite no longer being signed to G.O.O.D. Music, Cudi continues to collaborate with his mentor. The Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven rapper appears on two Pablo cuts, “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” and “Waves,” and was by West’s side as he presented the album during his Yeezy Season 3 show at Madison Square Garden.

While this might have been taken on day 1 of Turbo’s creation, Kanye has already dropped new music. Last week, he premiered “Closest Thing to Einstein” at a Los Angeles nightclub and a Migos-Yeezy collab snippet leaked on social media. It’s unclear whether either song will appear on ‘Ye’s next project, which is slated for a summer release.
