Police Probe Johnny Manziel Over 'Possible Assault' On Ex-Girlfriend

Texas cops responding to an assault report investigated but did not arrest Cleveland Browns' quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Officers in Forth Worth were dispatched early Saturday to an apartment complex where they met with a "23-year-old female who stated that she was involved in a disturbance with her ex-boyfriend," a statement from the department said.

Forth Worth police confirmed that the woman's ex-boyfriend is Johnny Manziel, who left the scene before police arrived but was "safe and in no danger."

Officers attempted to speak to the woman about the allegations, but she was "uncooperative." Police said they forwarded their report to detectives for further investigation.

The NFL said they were aware of the incident and are "looking into it," ESPN reports. The Browns declined to comment.

Manziel was accused last October of assaulting his girlfriend during an altercation while driving.

"She said I was driving too crazy, trying to injure her and hurt her, which was not the case at all," Manziel told police at the time.
